DONATIONS are coming in thick and fast for this year’s Christmas toy appeal.

And there is still a chance to give someone less fortunate a gift.

Warrington firm Storage King has teamed up with the Warrington Guardian in aid of The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Toys and gifts are being collected at the company’s site just behind LA Bowl, as well as at The Entertainer in Golden Square, The Jungle on Pinner’s Brow, The Balloon and Gift Boutique on Horsemarket Street and at the Warrington Guardian offices behind the Village Hotel on Centre Park.

The Toy Appeal is in its second year and was the idea of Storage King’s Marc Howarth who has visited the charity on several occasions, and is determined to help them to bring some festive magic into the lives of hundreds of children from the region.

All toys that have been donated are then taken to the farm, near Lymm, where they are sorted and wrapped by charity’s staff and volunteers.

Each gift is then allocated to a specific child to ensure that all of the children visiting CAFT this Christmas will receive a gift they have always wanted.

Each child will be given their gifts by Santa in the charity’s beautiful grotto, and each will also go home with a huge bag of sweets donated by Swizzels in Matlow, a selection box donated by Parfetts in Stockport and decorated gingerbread donated by Roberts Bakery in Northwich.

Helen Crowther, from the charity, said: “We’re absolutely bowled over by the quantity of toys that have already been donated, people have been so generous. At the risk of sounding greedy – we need more please.”

New toys and gifts for all ages are required by the charity as it will be providing parties for all ages, from toddlers to teenagers until December 20.

Storage King is using the hashtag #SKToyAppeal on social media and is urging others to follow suit to show their support of the appeal.
