POLICE have released a CCTV image of dad-of-four Marcus Shaw shortly before he was reported missing.

The footage was captured at a barber shop in the centre of Lymm which he visited a short time before his disappearance.

A reported sighting of the missing dad in High Legh has been confirmed by police.

A tweet from the Knutsford Police Twitter account was published this afternoon appealing for anyone with information to come forward after the 43-year-old was sighted on Saturday on foot.

Underwater search teams, the dog unit and the National Police Air Service have been deployed to Warrington and the surrounding area as part of the search.

Volunteers from Cheshire Search and Rescue team have also descended on the town as concern grows for the 43-year-old from Orford.

A search control centre has been set up in Broomedge off West Lane.

He was last seen walking along High Legh Road at 4.30pm on the same day, heading in the direction of the M56 bridge.

Inspector Mark Gammage said: “It has now been three days since Marcus was last seen so we are obviously extremely worried about him.

“Our officers are continuing to search for him with help from NPAS, the dog unit, underwater search teams, specialist search team from Merseyside Fire and Rescue and volunteers from the Cheshire Search and Rescue team.

“Although our focus has been in the Lymm area, Marcus is an experienced lorry driver who knows the country’s road networks so it is possible he could be anywhere."

His daughter Lucy Bedford issued a desperate plea for her dad’s safe return yesterday, Monday.

The mum-of-two has been unable to sleep since she discovered her dad had not returned to his home in Orford at the weekend.

The 27-year-old said: "I know the helicopter is out today and there is a big search party.

"I've not been sleeping. This is extremely out of character for him.

"He never leaves his phone and his phone and car have been found near to The Jolly Thresher in Lymm.

"He doesn't know anyone in Lymm."

Marcus, who also has three younger daughters aged four to 13, was reported missing by his family after heading to Urban Edge hairdressers on Hallfields Road then to visit his partner in Padgate.

Officers have confirmed the 43-year-old, who had recently passed a HGV course, was seen at 2pm on Saturday, January 14, at an address on Keswick Avenue.

He is described as white, 6ft, of a stocky build, with short blonde hair, blue eyes and tattoos on both his arms.

Marcus was wearing a Jack Wolfskin fleece over a blue top, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black Adidas trainers.

Lucy added: "If my dad is reading this I just want him to know that we want him home. We are worried.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone who is helping in the search."

His partner Joanne Lyne has also issued a public appeal on Facebook describing Marcus as her 'gorgeous man' and 'best friend'.

She said: "Love this man the mostest. He's my best mate my world. Marcus Shaw xx

"If anyone has seen him please let me or his family know he is safe."

Anyone who may have seen Marcus can call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 817 of January 14.
