VISITORS to Disability Awareness Day (DAD) will be able enjoy free transport and parking at Sunday’s event at Walton Hall Gardens.

Organisers have been busy drawing up plans to cater for all kinds of access needs ahead of the big day.

The site has been well-signposted and helpers will be on-hand to organise parking and give directions to visitors upon arrival.

Those travelling by car are advised to use postcode WA4 6SN to reach their destination and a full list of accommodating taxi companies can be found at disabilityawarenessday.org.uk/find/taxis.shtml.

DAD has also reserved all 300 spaces for blue badge holders on the main front section of Walton Lea Road car park.

A further 700 spaces will be available on the grass field overspill car park with minibuses and coaches invited to park there.

There will be a free, fully accessible park-and-ride service available from Wilderspool Park, Greenalls Avenue – with buses running every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 5.45pm.

Network Warrington, operating from the Warrington Bus Interchange, will also provide a free bus service running every 30 minutes from 10am.

Return journeys will also be available – running at quarter to and quarter past every hour until 5.45pm.

For more details on the free bus service or park-and-ride, contact the DAD office team on 240064.
