AN open meeting to discuss fracking is being held by Warrington Friends of the Earth next week.

Held at the Friends Meeting House on Buttermarket Street on July 10 from 7pm, it will discuss the risks it holds for Warrington, our homes, neighbourhoods and environment?

Warrington Friends of the Earth is bringing together some of the UK's leading spokesmen against fracking to present perspectives from around the UK and beyond.

This will hopefully be a constructive event where pro's and con's will be discussed. Biased propaganda will only serve to damage FoE's apparent opposition to fracking which in reality could be beneficial to the UK population.

I am sure it will be constructive ChristoB The more people who are informed of this issue the better but I must say there slot on pro's will probably be extremely short.
Being just a regular citizen it has takena good few months to sift through report and studies from EXPERTS not politicans nor the industry propaganda men, both from the USA and the UK, plus attending lectures given by environmental and ex industry bosses and also visting two current sites, one at Crawberry Hill in Humberside and a site starting at Davyhulme.
On those visits alone I would not be happy for this industry to go ahead. The disregard this industry has already shown to human and environmental welfare and safety is astounding and this is before they start in ernest.
If you attend the meeting Christo I will be only too happy to show you photographic evidence of my concerns. I also assure you and silly ideas of Pro's you or anyone else may be having in relation to fracking will be easily dispelled.
Once we've covered those issues we can if you or anyone else wishes move on to the militia style security forces these companies are being allowed to use on innocent law abiding protestors, some of which are highly educated professional not a rough guy like me from the "wrong side" of town.
Then there's the way politicans are undermining our civil rights and changing laws to facilitate this industry including our police force as a personal escort service for their business needs and the wastes tax payer money in court costs through unlaw arrests and pending compensation claims .
I could go on but let's save it for the meeting eh ;)
