THE annual service of remembrance at Walton Lea Crematorium will be a colourful event on Sunday.

Coloured and tied ribbons will be collected and a rainbow of memorial balloons released during the outdoor service which takes place at 3pm in the grounds, weather permitting.

It will be led by Warrington Borough Minister, the Rev Stephen Kingsnorth with Canon Christopher Cunningham and the Rev John Duffield.

Rev Kingsnorth said: “Entitled 'Death through the ages' the service challenges the comforting thought, that we know to be untrue, that death comes only to the very old, rather than taking our loved ones of any age. Reactions to bereavement will be traced including, surprisingly, laughter, and as ever the event will not avoid the difficult matters associated with grief.”
