A MAN is in a serious condition in Warrington Hospital after what police have described as a ‘serious assault’.
Five men from the town have been arrested after the incident on Monday at a house on Leicester Street in Whitecross.
A police spokesman added: “At 12.04pm on Monday police were called to a property in Leicester Street, Warrington, following concerns for the health of a man.
“Officers arrived at the scene and the man was taken to Warrington Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
“Police are currently trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and enquiries are ongoing at this time.
“Five men from Warrington aged 30, 36, 37, 40 and 45 have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail.”
