WORK started this week on a new look for the food court area at Warrington Hospital including a Costa Coffee branch, Subway and a new restaurant and hot food area.

Hot and cold food and drinks will still be available from a temporary outlet in the food court while the refurbishment work takes place.

A hospital spokesman said: “We expect the new Costa to open May 12 followed by the Subway and the main restaurant to follow at the end of June.

“As the work progresses we'll also share more information on the extended opening hours.”

The food at Halton is so much better and much cheaper! But then again some crappy chain company doesn't provide the food at Halton, it's done by the hospital!

Isn't the purpose of hospitals to treat the sick ,not to be decked out like a trendy shopping centre ? Spend the money where it's needed !

Hopefully these new food outlets are franchises and therefore the hospital will have negotiated that they will be paying full market rent for the spaces they are using and that hospital puts this new income to good use,, how about more parking??
It would also be a nice gesture on their part if they made an annual donation to the hospital funds out of the vast profits they will make from the staff and visitors alike who crave a decent sandwich and coffee whilst in the hospital.
