I WAS interested to read our council tax is going up again (Warrington Guardian, March 7).
Where will all this money be going, I ask?
To make the lives of people living in this town better or simply to service the astronomical debts?
I am no accountant ,but I venture to suggest were I to be even £30,000 in debt, I would not be able to get another mortgage.
I also would struggle to survive week to week, so how does the council justify this?
I see they are pleading poverty from Government cuts.
But that is the same for every council in the country, and yet the majority of them are not in the financial difficulties Warrington is in.
It suggests something has gone wrong somewhere along the line.
