I HAVE to say, I was appalled reading John Dwyer’s comments in the Warrington Guardian (February 8).
To somehow compare short skirts in a debate about violence against women is extraordinary.
I am of a similar generation – I am 78 now – and yet I would never make such remarks.
But almost as bad as the remarks themselves is what this says about his wider ability to do the job.
Before he said it, did it not go through his mind whether this was appropriate or not?
Did he not think of the ramifications?
If not, what does it say about his general ability to do his job?
Not much, in my humble opinion.
Can he make the difficult political decisions?
I have certainly lost a lot of respect for him.
