HAS anyone tried to get around town in a car these past few weeks?
It has been a complete nightmare.
On Friday, I needed to go to B&Q, and the journey from Stretton took well over an hour.
First, I had to crawl through Stockton Heath, which is increasingly resembling a large car park.
Then I went down Winwick Road, which was equally stuck in gridlock because one lane was out with some gas works.
We are really reaching breaking point in this town.
We cannot cope with more houses and more people without a massive improvement in the infrastructure.
People talk about the need for greater use of public transport, but that is not going to solve the problem. It will help, but not fully.
The council and the Government need to get hold of this mess before this is the norm.
Because the traffic in Warrington is simply getting worse and worse.
