SAM Wilson has been named as the permanent Warrington Rylands manager.
Since he took the job on an interim basis alongside fellow senior player Dean Furman, he has led an upturn in form that has resulted in Blues securing a spot in the Northern Premier League Premier Division play-offs.
And now, the club have confirmed he has signed a two-year contract to permanently succeed Michael Clegg, who left to join Macclesfield in February.
Today’s 2-1 defeat to Lancaster City was only Blues’ second defeat in nine games since Wilson, who was part of the Rylands squad that won promotion to the NPL’s top flight in 2022 as a player, took charge alongside Furman.
That run has also yielded six victories and a draw to leave Rylands in second place in the table.
