THERE were 210 babies born under Warrington and Halton Hospital Teaching Hospitals last month.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust collates all the baby-related data every month detailing how many babies are born – boys and girls – whether there are any sets of twins or triplets and how babies are delivered.

There are monthly stats for the lightest baby and the heaviest baby and which is the busiest day of each month for new arrivals.

Some 210 new arrivals were born at Warrington Hospital or at home in the fourth month of 2024 – 111 boys and 99 girls – and one set of twins.

The lightest baby born in April weighed 3lb 4oz (1,500g) and the heaviest baby topped the scales at 10lb 1oz (4,570g).

The busiest days for babies being born last month were April 5 when 12 babies made an appearance each day.

Thirteen babies were born in the Nest – the midwifery-led unit – together with 34 Caesarean elective sections and 43 unplanned sections.

There were 101 vaginal births and 32 assisted deliveries and some 86 babies were induced.

Five babies were born at home and there were 14 water births and 75 per cent of babies were breast fed.
